Main Gate, Kew Gardens, late 1800s

A cabinet card with bevelled, gilt edged mount, suggesting a date from the 1880s or 1890s.
This is the Main Gate at Kew Gardens, designed by Decimus Burton in 1845. You can see a modern view via Google Streetview.
The chap to the left may well be a fairly early member of the Royal Botanic Gardens Constabulary, the second also appears to be in some form of uniform so I assume is a member of Kew Gardens staff, whilst the man and small boy are perhaps just visitors.
All in all a rare and interesting image.
